So as an artist, one could search out imagery or source material via second-hand bookshops or by other means- one had more a sense of ownership because no one else would have access to the same source material as readily. The atmosphere is very similar to what I remember in the London art schools in the early eighties. At that time my work was shown in some group exhibitions in London, and then in a shop in Florence called Luisa Via Roma put together by Victoria Fernandez.
